Hello folks,
It’s been a month since my last check-in. I feel like I’ve just finally decided on several things, mostly about the career field and work-related stuff. Should I make the decision earlier? Maybe. In retrospect, I think my current pace is fine. I don’t really know what is inside the basket of the EPA master’s program back then. So yeah, I took almost four months to ponder on. Does it really matter? Will the reflection do anything? I don’t know either. One way to find out is to walk the path itself.
Quick recap this month
I’ve returned to the Netherlands and took care of my administration things. I wondered why I decide to go to the Netherlands in winter. Fortunately, my zoekjaar is done and all that I need is to make an appointment to get the new residence permit. I am deliberately avoiding the option to work in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. I could potentially save more money by working in the Netherlands for a while before returning to Indonesia. Also, I imagine myself starting a small business to gather talented people that stay in rural areas. Maybe ten years from now. That’s not possible with my current financial situation so working in the Netherlands seems like a good option.
Interesting things that happen
I’m currently wrapping up a couple of experience review articles regarding my study in the EPA master’s program. There will be two articles, one for the EPA itself, and one specific for the thesis experience. I will publish them both in English language and Indonesian language. I also write tools that have helped me during my thesis. Not sure if that will be of any use to you.
I’m drafting an annual review inspired by Ness Labs. She writes an amazing newsletter anyway.
Bonus - pixel art
Yes, I have so much spare time. This is my first attempt at pixel art.
A thousand dollar idea - this newsletter
I’ve just realized that I miss sending out a newsletter in October. To make up for it, I will send another one next year announcing the continuation of this newsletter. As one of my projects this year, it has taught me several things… although I wonder how does it feel on your end. In the meantime, I’m open to feedback. Please let me know which month is your favorite or which part really cheers you up. It’s okay as well to let me know which is the worst.
Happy holiday
Thank you for following my journey. We (me and the other me) hope you find something fun to read and think about.
